Camp FAR Out 2014 is a two-week performing arts camp held at FAR’s main service site, First Presbyterian Church Birmingham. This camp is for ages 3-16 and runs August 4-15 from 9-11:30 a.m. each day. To cap off all our wonderful activities, we will have a public performance on the last day for friends and family to enjoy. This year’s theme is “Music from the D – From Motown, Rock to Rap”.
A non-refundable* deposit of $50 is required at time of registration. For new campers, a short interview with parents and campers new to FAR will take place prior to acceptance to determine that Camp FAR Out is a good fit for your child. Returning campers will be asked to fill out an update form.
Your child will be placed in a group according to his/her age and ability and will rotate among fun-filled therapeutic activity sessions including music, art and movement. He/she will be assigned a group of counselors who will rotate with the group to each session. Please note that if your child requires one on one assistance, it must be provided by the family.
If your child has never attended FAR, Camp FAR Out is a great time for you to get a taste of what we offer and to meet our dedicated therapeutic staff!
Camp FAR Out has received a generous grant that underwrites most of the expense, allowing us to charge a low fee of $225. If payment presents a difficulty, please contact us to see if you qualify for a scholarship.

*If your child is unable to attend due to the outcome of the interview, your deposit will be refunded.
